LOCAL NEWS-
Updated snow and wind 8:05 PM
The National Weather Service in Grand Forks, North Dakota has upgraded the Blizzard Watch to a Blizzard Warning in effect from Sunday afternoon through Monday morning. Crookston and the area is expected to get 8 to 14 inches of snow with wind gusts as high as 55 miles per hour that could cause whiteout conditions.  Tree branches could fall as well.   A blizzard watch means there is a potential for falling and/or blowing snow with strong winds and extremely poor visibilities.  This can lead to whiteout conditions and make travel very dangerous.
The forecast for Crookston the the area is below-

CHRISTMAS DAY...CLOUDY. A CHANCE OF LIGHT SNOW IN THE MORNING... THEN SNOW IN THE AFTERNOON. BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW IN THE AFTERNOON. WINDY. SNOW MAY BE HEAVY AT TIMES IN THE AFTERNOON. HIGHS 30 TO 35. CHANCE OF SNOW 90 PERCENT.
