LOCAL NEWS-
The Polk County Historical Society presents Pioneer Day on Sunday, September 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Polk County Museum in Crookston.  “It has gone from a two day event to a one day event and this year it is on the same day as the Sugar Beet Museum Festival across the road,” said Jerry Amiot.  “We start the day at 11:00 a.m., serving lunch of bratwurst, hot dogs, barbeques, chips, pie and ice cream.  This year we will also feature fry bread, something that our former museum director Alice Dale started.  She has since passed on and her family continues the tradition in our log cabin.”
This year also features a Lefse Making Demonstration at 2:30 p.m. in the museum auditorium.  Packages of lefse will be sold in the food area of the centennial building.
There will also be music and entertainment this year.
