Recalls linked to possibly listeria-tainted
sunflower nuts processed at the SunOpta plant in Crookston has affected several
major food companies across the nation.
The recalls involve items sold at Giant Eagle, as well as products made by
Treehouse Foods, a major private-label food manufacturer. There have been no
reports of illnesses from any recalled products.
Toronto-based SunOpta, an ingredients supplier, has its U.S. headquarters in
Edina and owns several plants in Minnesota, including Crookston. The Crookston
plant has been shut down since April 21.
