LOCAL NEWS-
Members of SNAP, Survivors Network Abused by Priests, were in the parking lot at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception in Crookston on Sunday and distributed information on their cause to protect children from Father Joseph Jeyapaul, a priest who plead guilty to child sex crimes in Minnesota last year and now has been cleared to return to active ministry. Barbara Dorris, Victim Outreach Director of SNAP, said the children must be protected.  “According to all the promises the Bishops and the Pope have made, Father Jeyapaul would not be able to have access to children, now his suspension has been lifted and he will be put back into a parish in India,” said Dorris.  “We feel this is outrageous, unnecessary and extremely dangerous so we are here today to say the Bishops have some power and could use their voices and speak out and look for other victims, whistleblowers and witnesses, anything that would keep this man away from children, they have a moral and civil obligation to protect the children.”
