LOCAL NEWS-
The Sisters of St Benedict Monastery earned a
rebate check for more than $70,000 from Otter Tail Power Company for
using our company’s Commercial Design Assistance (CDA) program to plan their new
47,000-square-foot living quarters. The CDA program is an integrated process
that puts energy efficiency at the forefront for new construction.
Ottertail Power Company worked with the Monastery’s staff to design the new
building for maximum efficiency. This included the installation of:
-A variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system
coupled with a geothermal heat pump (GHP). A GHP uses an underground loop field
to move heat instead of creating it, pulling heat from the earth into the
building during the winter and moving heat and humidity out of the building
during the summer.
